Around the last WW1 French veteran still living
by aligot ripounsous inone of the last two french ww1 veterans died recently.
some have wondered on this board whether there had ever been a french army, or one composed of other than white flag holders.
yes there was a french army.

You want to travel abroad ? Join with JWs !
by aligot ripounsous ini'm amazed at seing how that religion has spawned a new brand of globe-trotters.
with a view to creating new foreign congregations in big cities, the wts is encouraging publishers to leave their original congregations, learn a foreign language (tuitions are set up for that purpose) and go supporting these groups.
some publishers are just too happy to add variety to their lives and engage in the venture, even though they may not know even a single word of the foreign language.

JW's kids must NOT attend nursery school
by aligot ripounsous ini thought that after some 30 years as a jw the wts's teaching is so familiar that i can hardly find anything new in assembly talks, which may be the reason why, as many attendants do, i gently noze down and opening an eye from time to time is enough to catch up the drift of an all too well known talk.
still, i've been genuinely surprised last sunday by a point a bethel visitor rose in one of the p.m talks, namely that jws are not advised to send their kids to school until an age when he (she) can take a personal stand re.
xmas, birthdays, etc.

Now you have left, are you donating more money to charities ?
by aligot ripounsous ini'm still a nominal jw, get literature at the hall, use the premises (power, heating etc.
) so that i feel that i have to bring a financial contribution to the organization.
however, i find the wts's constant calling for money, especially at this time of the year, rather irritating and as far as i'm concerned, it is utterly counter-productive since i think that i will donate less this year than in previous years.

But WHY don't they disfellowship bloodtakers ?
by aligot ripounsous inany jw knows that one of the very bad things that a christian must not do is accepting a blood transfusion.
respect for the sanctity of blood ranks highest, in jw theology, on the scale of christian standards, along with not being a murderer, an adulterer, a robber, etc.
in fact, it is the identifying feature of jws for the onlooker.

Which countries do the anointed come from ?
by aligot ripounsous ina couple of jw friends came yo visit us today and we had dinner together.. at some stage in the conversation, i said that i do understand that an increasing number of jws from developing countries take emblems at memorials because, if we consider that europe and the us compose, together, about 700 million people, there is no good reason why nearly the whole lot of the little flock should be chosen from one tenth of humankind.
it is therefore all too normal that jws from third world counties think that they should have their fair share since jehovah id not partial.
the husband listened attentively and agreed but his wife probably found that we were engaging on a slippery ground and she shortened the visit.

initial and final sealing of the anointed ones
by aligot ripounsous ini raised once the following topic but it was my very first post and, not being familiar with the etiquette, i hijacked one of blondie's threads.
apart from the fact that doing so was inappropriate, i thought that it can provide matter for a thread of its own.
we find in the jan 1st 2007 wt issue a question from readers article which deals with the (so called) initial and final sealing of the anointed ones.

What were Jesus's actual words ?
by aligot ripounsous injust a thought, which no doubt has been already expressed on here, if not in the same form.
we know how much emphasis the wts puts on teaching that the gospels are authentic historical reports.
however, we can see at least one domain where this historicity must be considered cautiously.

We know NOW where Adam was
by aligot ripounsous inan american chap whose name was mark twain or something, made extensive research and eventually unearthed an old document near where adam lived, niagara falls adam said (in fact he didn't call the place nf, eve did because she said it looked like nf).
anyway, as the attached manuscript shows beyond any doubt, as soon as he noticed that eve was making friend with a serpent, he had a terrible premonition that trouble was ahead and he ran away, but to no avail.
as we can guess, eve has tried to put the blame on adam, at least that's what he says, we should check with eve's diary.

Can't keep up with pace !!
by aligot ripounsous ini take a chance and start my first thread :.
as it has been posted quite a few times lately, there has been a noticeable increase in the posting population on this board (i've added my bit) in the latest few months.
the consequence is that it takes an awfull time to read these posts -all the more so when one is a non native english writer- and one may feel that any posting we would like to do will be diluted in the whole lot, and/or come too late.
